About Ben Austwick
Ben Austwick is an English language teacher and travel blogger from West Yorkshire living in Zaragoza, Spain. He teaches English to adults, children and employees of local businesses in the area whilst blogging about local cuisine, culture and other events he encounters on the way.
After travelling, Ben’s second major love in life is politics. He graduated in 2010 with a degree in the subject and produces a popular, politics-based podcast The Ben & Arnie Show with close friend Arnie Craven. During his time at university he founded their LGBT society and remains actively involved in gay rights issues.
Despite joining the Conservative Party in 2007, he is no longer a member after feeling the party lacked the sense of direction and conviction it held in opposition. Now he is living abroad, he hopes to learn about Spanish politics in preparation for the 2011 general election.
Ben’s interests also include Formula One, trips to the theatre and experiencing foreign cuisine. Now living in Spain, he will publish weekly blogs here on Spanish culture, food, drink, politics and anything else Spanish he can get his hands on.
