About Declan Harvey

Declan is a journalist and staff reporter for LBC 97.3 and Classic FM.

He moved to England, from Donegal aged 19 and got a first class degree in Acting from Rose Bruford College - a skill he says he still uses daily. Having been arrested on The Bill for stealing microchips (didn't do it gov') Declan moved on to get an MA in Theatre Practices, specialising in Voice. He started his own company and has worked with actors, politicians and others across Ireland and the UK as a voice coach.

It was whilst listening to LBC on an April morning in 2009 he decided to make the shift to radio. He also quite fancied having a desk he could call his own. A post-grad in Broadcast Journalism later and he got that desk at Global Radio in Leicester Square. In 2011 he won Young Journalist of the Year at the Sky News Radio Awards.

Declan calls London home, is a self diagnosed sports-dyslexic (yes, it's real!), loves a good autobiography, works many more hours than he's paid for, is unable to save money, does an uncanny Peter Falk impression, leans naturally left but is suspicious of unions and is endlessly fascinated by the people he meets through his job.
