Read moreGuy McEvoy is the founder and director of a technology company based in Birmingham. He swapped big business on someone else’s payroll for small business on his own wits in 2009. Starting-up at the height of a global recession has been ‘interesting timing’.
Working backwards he previously had international senior management roles for a FTSE 100 company, worked for one of those ‘Big 5? Consulting firms that poke their noses into all sorts of folks business, studied International Relations and International Law to postgraduate level and for a brief but happy time in the early nineties worked on a Kibbutz chicken farm in Northern Israel. He is originally from Liverpool and grew-up in various parts of the North.
He is a socially liberal economic realist.
He suspects he is the last person in Britain who takes David Cameron’s ‘Big Society’ thing at face value and is still up for it. He is a Non-Executive Director of an NHS Trust and Chair of Governors at a National Challenge Secondary School. He is in his mid/late thirties and married with two young children.
