About Mark Thompson

Mark is an award winning Liberal Democrat blogger.

He first came to wide attention in May 2009 with two blogposts that showed an apparent correlation between the safety of an MP's seat and the likelihood of them having been involved in the expenses scandal: "Has our electoral system contributed to the MPs expenses scandal?" and "MPs Expenses and safe seats correlation - update".
His biggest passions in politics are electoral reform and drugs policy. He is also a big comedy and music fan and treads the boards in amateur dramatics.
Mark has appeared on BBC Radio 4, Sky News, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC World Service and LBC as a political pundit and co-hosted 40 episodes of the widely admired "House of Comments" political podcast between 2009 and 2010.

He is a co-founder and director of Southfacing Services Ltd which deals with energy efficiency in buildings and produces computer software.
