About Sarah Hayward

Prior to taking the plunge in to elected politics Sarah worked behind the scenes as both a Civil Servant and political adviser (briefly) to John Denham when he was Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government. At the last election aside from being a candidate herself, she was Frank Dobson's election agent, doubling his majority, and ran Camden Labour's successful campaign to retake control of the council (both despite strong Lib Dem efforts back when people agreed with Nick).

Sarah has worked in a range of other private, public and voluntary sector organisations, mostly in PR & communications. She has been interested in politics since childhood when most of her family were active Conservatives. As a teenager she realised her parents were wrong and has never looked back.

The things that fascinate her most are criminal justice policy and what makes and maintains strong communities (but that could just be today).

Outside politics Sarah has an Arsenal season ticket, a husband and a love of great food (not necessarily in that order).
