About Scott Colvin

Scott is an Associate Partner at communications company Finsbury, with over a decade of experience working in Westminster.

He started his political career working for the former Conservative MP for Eastbourne, Nigel Waterson, before joining Conservative HQ. During that three year spell, he was part of the full time campaign staff on the 2001 General Election.

Since then, Scott has been a senior consultant at Fleishman-Hillard, advising FTSE-100 companies on their political communications, as well as working on the first stage of the campaign to prevent the extradition to the United States of the so-called 'NatWest Three' bankers.

In 2006 he joined the world's largest airports company, BAA, serving latterly as its Head of Group Public Affairs.

Separately, Scott also served as an elected councillor in Reigate and Banstead, winning the seat at the tender age of 27 and serving a full four-year term.

He has written for Total Politics magazine, and his first book, How to Use Politicians to Get What You Want, was published by Biteback in April 2011.
