Labour is voting on whether to abolish elections to the shadow cabinet. Well, here's one MP who will be voting yes. His name is Tom Harris.
Read moreTom Harris was born in 1964 and was brought up in Ayrshire, Scotland, and originally trained and worked as a journalist before working for the Labour Party as a press officer.
He then went into public relations before entering parliament as a Labour MP in 2001. In September 2006, Blair appointed him to the government as minister for the railways. Two years later, Gordon Brown sacked him.
Tom wrote an award-winning blog, “And Another Thing…”, for two and a half years until the pressure of being entirely sensible and right all the time became too much and he packed it in. He was – and remains – a strong supporter of Tony Blair and New Labour.
