This is just the sort of sonorous nonsense we of the Right will be fighting for the next four years. This statement sounds irrefutableā¦until you think about the details. "Jobs" aren't a commodity like oranges or even a construct like a building. They emerge from many, individual decisions taken for many localized, specific needs. There are only two known ways to make jobs available to every serviceman: either make business decisions so easy to implement that jobs are plentiful or create a governmental regulatory structure to enforce employment decisions by fiat. No guesses for our present administration's preferred choice. And, once you've mandated jobs for one group, you'd better be prepared to mandate them for all politically powerful constituencies. And kiss goodbye any notion of general prosperity.
{sigh} It will be a long road to the next election.
It’s not fair, we didn’t win the election, and you told us we would win the election, and you only had that Gordon Brown to beat, and he’s rubbish, and now we can’t do what we wanted to do, so we’re not getting out of bed!
