Plus - any terrorist group, no matter what its gripe sticks 'al qaeda' to its moniker. It means nothing.

Don't see anything too disgusting about the tweet. Might be the wrong terrorist group, but the principle is still right.

And is insensitive to the hostages and their families. I don't think so. There will be a lot of people talking about the situation some good, some bad. We can't not talk about it just because we MIGHT upset some people. What would be more insensitive would be the press digging into the personal details of the families who are having to cope with a difficult time.

Why postpone/cancel a speech in Amsterdam because a terrorist group has some hostages some of which are British and the whole situation is being handled by the Algerians.

It's not like David Cameron can do anything to help solve the problem. He's not trained for handling hostage situations nor has he got any military background, so he's as useful as a chocolate teapot.

A true leader would leave it up to the experts to handle and he can get updates and inform the press what's happening from anywhere in the world. He doesn't need to be in #10.
